Hi everyone,

I’m thinking of making some changes on my living room and need some tips on 4 things:

1- I was thinking of moving my electric storage heater. Can I simply put it next to another normal socket in the room or will it need a specific socket that has its own fuseway?
2- Also, I was thinking of installing an electrical fire and have the same question… can I just use any socket available in the room?
3- The same question for a wine fridge I’m thinking of buying…
4- I wanted to install a timer in my electric boiler… how can I do it and what type of device would you advise me to get?

Thanks a lot for your help!

1. Storage heater will require its own circuit.
2. The electric fire MAY require its own circuit, this depends on the rating.
3. A small wine fridge will plug in to a socket , and will be supplied with a plug already fitted.
4. This depends entirely on what kind of 'electric boiler' you have got.

If you do move the storage heater, take the bricks out first - or risk serious injury and damage!

Thanks for the reply flameport...

Regarding the electric fire, from what rating would it need its own circuit?

The wine fridge is not that small... i.e. it's the size of a normal undercounter fridge to take up to 40 bottles.

I'll find out what's the model of the boiler and will let you know...
