Hi i have just purchased a class 630 battery booster/starter the ones garages use on a trolley , well it didnt come with any instructions , i have the place where i bought it from butr there useless and said they would sens me some but nothing has turned up , i have looked on the web and have found the manufactor(Decca) but have asked them for some imfo but again nothing has come back
Right what i need to know is how long do i need to chatge it before i can use it? how do i know when it is fully charged , i have worked out what the dials are for ie use it as a charger , quick charger or starter, when its charging the led shows various numbers -1 -4 ETC WILL THIS SAY FULL WHEN ITS FULLY CHARGED (Its been charging for 2days now )
if someone could help it would be much appreciated
Mike

if you can post up a picture of the main buttons it may help, i would say that a charge of around 8 hours should be more than enough to have it at full power. It would need to be charged at fairly regular intervals to keep it at full power for jump starting vehicles

Hi Mike

If its auto regulating it doesn't matter how long you leave it on but on fast charge I suspect it isn't and it will cook the battery if you leave it on to long. With the old ones I remember from the '50s half an hour would be tops, but I expect they have improved a bit since then.

As suggested a picture would help. Does it have an ammeter on it?

hi and thanks for your replys sorry about quality of pics but i think you can see

if i understand you correctly you are asking how long you need to leave it charging until you can use it as a booster?
do you think it has an internal battery? it doesn't. you need it plugged in to the mains to use as a booster.
hope i understood you right

Thanks, that throws a bit of light on it, I don't know whether the display is a timer or ammeter or both, it certainly needs some instructions. A bit of experimentation with and external ammeter in circuit would give a lot more information.

many thanks for your replys , i have now found out that it doesnt have an internal battery ,its a charger and starter ,im a bit piffed at this as the place where i bought it from told be that it had an internal battery so it is portable thats the reson i bought it , when i rang them today and asked them the reply was that was what i askd for ,and no reund as theres nothing wrong with it , so basically i bought an expensive charger

Looks like a good one though. If its new they are obliged to give the operating instructions otherwise its not 'fit for purpose'

it works very well and is a good bit of kit , i was disappointed with the company i purchased it from as i clearly asked for one with a battery as i dont have power in my garage
