I have an inbuilt Neff dishwasher (model S54T59X0GB) which has been running really well for around 6 years. In recent weeks the dishwasher has started making a whirring noise when it runs through the cycle. It is still working OK but I am concerned a problem is going to occur and cause a motor to burn out.

I have looked at other posts on this website for advice, so I took the side covers off and cleaned out the pipes in and out of the water "matrix" on the left hand side and removed as much gunk from the top LHS of the matrix. I also cleaned out the "pressure unit" to the lower right of the matrix. All these terms are new to me, just what I picked up from other posts. The machine fills OK with water and having run the machine with the sides off and opened it when running I don't think there is a problem with water flow.

I think the noise is coming from the electric motor that is at the bottom right hand side of the machine. I can't get in close to see anything stuck around the motor mechanism.

Any advice on what I should do to investigate this noise further or if I should order a new motor? Is the motor easy to replace? We use the machine daily so I don't want it to fail one day if I were away on business and leave my wife to clean the dishes.

Thanks in advance!
