My cousin has new neighbours who have just bought a BIG dog. The problem is it jumps the fence regularly and we wondered where do you stand legally on this issue. They go and knock the door to tell them but is there anything they can do to get them to secure their garden and/or put a fence up? (Its is their fence)

Ask them to raise the fence to 6ft!

then phone your local dog warden and get them to have a polite word in there shell like.
they have a duty of care to make sure there dog isnt a nuisance.
also ask the neighbours if they have decent household insurance,as if/when the dog bites (lets hope not)then they will claim.at the end of the day it isnt the dogs fault but stupid owners.
