Purchased a new light fitting for small en suite containing shower toilet and handbasin. New fitting suitable for zone 2 although it is out of zone 2 on the ceiling. As you can see in the picture current fitting is a downhanger and shade with live and neutral attached and no earth. I assume this is totally against regulations.
Am I ok attaching the earth on the new fitting to the earth in the rose and am I allowed under part P. Do not want to break any rules although I am a compotent diyer I usually leave the electric to a pro. As a matter of interest would the existing downhanger have beeen a major hazard as I cannot understand why it was done this way. The en suite was only put in a couple of years ago and the previous owner was a bulder !
Any advice greatfully received.
THANKS
