Moved here a couple of months ago and have a pile of DIY to do, so slowly going through trying to make my mark.
Had my new boiler fitted and next on my ideal list was a new bathroom.
Unfortunately due to the neverending list of things to do and things to buy, finances are now starting to get a little tight.
I was planning on having the bathroom gutted and started from scratch but this morning I was wondering if I get the taps and bathroom fixtures renewed that would inject a bit of life into it before I go about replacing tiles and bath/toilet/basins etc.
The taps are really old and the shower head is green with limescale and tacky plastic.
Would you get these changed or save up and get the whole lot done in one?
Would the fixtures I buy now be able to be transfered over to new set?
Edit - Another question:
I have tiles on the bathroom floor and I noticed a build of mould on the tiles where clearly the previous owner allowed the shower curtain to drip in the corner. I noticed there is a gap where the tiles meet the skirting/walls... should this is siliconed or is this a bathroom equivalent to expansion gaps?
