I would like to divide a large bedroom up to make a bathroom, as the existing one will be knocked trough to make a bigger kitchen.
My question is I live in a bungalow I can get the correct fall on the waist pipe under the floor (it must be run under the floor as it will be on the opposite side of the bungalow)
Can I cut the old iron collar (under the floorboards) level with the sub-base and connect a 90deg bend (plastic)
The run will be along the hall about 4m then another bend and up to the new WC.
Can I connect the bath & sink to this run?
If so how?
Will I need to vent it, as it will all be internal?

have you checked your not dropping the min height of the first junction to the invert level by dropping the soil pipe under the floor. min should be 450mm.
bungalows or downstairs toilets are useally on the limit before you go chopping it down lower.

Thanks for the reply
The existing soil comes up trough the sub-base under the floor in iron although the under floor void is not very big I think that I can just about get the correct fall on the pipe under the floor but I would need to cut the iron level with the sub-base and go directly onto this with a elbow. ?
I could go under the floor to the outside wall (wc will be on an internal wall)
Then install a new drain and connect to the underground drainage but not sure if im making more work (what method would be best?)
But whatever I do I will need to cross inside the building as the drains are on the opposite side so rather than run another 1 ½” waste for the sink/bath can I connect to the 4” soil under the floor?
Many thanks

if you start installing new drains etc you'll need planning permission.

and how deep is the nearest drain ?
how far away is the drain from where your toilet is ?
how deep is it from floorboards to the ground ?

So it looks like I will be better off trying to come off the existing waste under the floor (old wc to be removed)
If by drain you mean the manhole it is around 2 ½ feet deep and towards the front of the property,
I was wondering if I could dig down and cut and t into the existing clay pipe?
The manhole is around 4 metres from the point where the waste will come out of the house wall and I have about a 3 – 4 metre run inside under the floor.
There is around 1 ½ foot gap under the floor and the ground outside the property is round another 1ft lower

If you cut the iron stack flush to floor how will you connect? Cast is different diameter and usually you connect using a fernco rubber collar....and that will raise the height of any elbow.......

Thanks for your reply
Can I not get a 4” elbow with a rubber seal attached to one end (similar to a pan connector)?
And what about the venting of it as the pipe will all be run under the floor?
Also can I connect the shower waste into the soil pipe under the floorboards as I don’t want to jack the shower tray up any more than necessary or must I run a separate waste into the drain?

Never would I depend on a Fernco rubber connection as I use Mission couplings with the stainless steel band so there is no belly in the piping ALSO

If you have cast Iron I would never use plastic garbage for drainage other then acid or chemical waste as plastic has a short radius which causes more stoppages and lots of unnecessary noise in the system

Try to locate a long sweep as it makes for much easier rodding in case of a stoppage.

If you cannot locate a long radius 90 then go with two 45 deg fittings.

You should also check with the local codes to make sure the existing piping can handle the extra load (fixture unites)
