New boiler or not ?

My 15 yr old vissman vitodends 100 sprung a leek yesterday british gas came to look at it today and found a burst flow pipe from the primary heat exchanger to the main flow bloc / hw heat exchanger this was due to the pipe being blocked up with magnetite the pipe from the pump is also solid. i was basically told its new boiler time as the pump and both Hex could be knackered obviously a new boiler can cost upwards of 2.5k plus a power flush. what are the chances of me getting a few more months out of it while I sort a deal on a new one ? I was looking at getting BG to fix it as its covered under our plan

What your paying for BG every month you could be paying towards a new boiler with a 10 year warranty including parts. Would work out cheaper over 10 years savings a packet.
I'm in this position myself but BG want £4000 for a straight boiler swap so i haven't done anything yet.
My plan is to get a local plumber to give me a quote and also get one of those online companies to give me a quote.
I've spoken to a couple of local plumbers but neither are interested in fitting a boiler, but I have 54 living within a mile looking at corgi website so im sure I can find someone as I'd prefer to get local company..

I agree but its going to be a few weeks to get it sorted but i have no heating or hot water local plumber can do it for about 2.5k but not for a few weeks and he wants paying the whole amount!! boxed same price on interest free but don't do the power flush !! I want somewhere I can pay monthly really to install new boiler and flush the system I expecting the BG quote to be astronomical !!
