Changing a ceiling rose

I have just changed a ceiling rose in my bedroom. What is odd is that there is an extra black (even after using the one for the swtich) and an extra red wire. I have just connected these extra wires to the loom and neutral. The light in the bedroom now works, but my bathroom spotlights now don't work - Do I have to find the switch (which I assume is one of the black wires) and attach it to the live terminal (this will mean I have 2 switches going into Live)?

When you say you have extra wires - how many did you start with? Have a look at the reference section at the top of the forum. It sounds like you have not connected the loop out from the rose.

Provide us with a list of all the wires that are coming from the ceiling.
