new colour - how many coats?

so, just finish decorating the new living room - one mist and two finish coats over plasterboard

The Minister for Domestic Affairs then stands there looking at the glorious brilliant white that she wanted, and asks "can we have a light cream or silvery grey?"

so, if I give into this mischief, can i get away with just applying one more coat?

I assume that the more difference in the colour, the greater the chance of needing a second coat.

have i just answered my own question?!

two coats will cover any thin or missed patches and will look more even.

Just hand her the roller.
