Hi,

Sorry this had to be my first post.

Basically I just recently fitted a bathroom for a customer. They wanted to keep there existing shower (triron).

So we completed the job (bathroom fitt inc tiling) fitted the old shower back on and it was not working.

Has power to it (light is on) Water to mains plenty pressure.

So I assumed it would be a faulty unit so the customer got a direct replacement, still the same issue.

It makes a noise when you turn it on but just a tiny triccle of water then nothing, exactly the same as the other one.

The wiring is pretty old red/black but the cable is quite decent size.

So is this a case of 2 fault shower units ( considering the shower was working before we went in?

Or is this something to do with the supply feed even though the light is on and it clearly has power.

cheers.

Water to mains plenty pressure.
Do you mean that if you disconnect the pipe at the shower lots of water comes out?

Do you mean a light on the shower or the switch?

Have you checked the connections in the switch?

Hi,

Sorry the shower has water comes direct from the mains, not even got an isolator so I know it has water. Even loosened off one of the unions and had water coming out.

The light on the shower is on and it makes the usual electric shower noise when you turn it on.

I loosened the pull cord switch but the there is hardly any play on the wires to get a proper look. However they all apear to be going into the terminals although there is signs of cables deteiorating.

Can the shower still have power and make a noise even though there could be a bad neutral? etc

Do you (or any of your crew) have a multi meter? Check at the terminals in the shower unit if the power is getting there. I assume the shower was re-commissioned as per instructions?

Thanks for all the replys so far. I just want to eliminate that it could have been anything we have done but I cant see how it could be.

Also dont want to leave my customer without a working shower.

cheers.

Personally i'd check the CU to see if theres any melting near the shower breaker and then get into the void above the shower switch and make sure that everythings connected properly and nothings melted etc then chase the cable to the shower and make sure everythings happy (tm) then check the pressure is good enough for the shower as i've seen showers complain when the water pressure isn't upto what they want

Yes it was working.

We fitted parador ceiling and had to loosen the pull switch to slide it past but thats the only thing we have touched electrical wise.

Isolate the shower circuit and check the connections in the pull switch. Hopefully no over heating will have occured already. If that really is all you have touched then anything else that has occured seems coincidental.
