any idea why on all the new hansgrohe taps bath/basin etc which are nearest boiler(combi) have a lot less flow rate than an old cheap b&Q tap on sink. the sink is really high flow whereas others are very poor.

Because they are designed to work on mains fed systems and have small waterways inside may even have non return valves too.
Where as the old tap designed to run on gravity fed system so nice big holes inside and no non return valves.

so when they say operate on 4bar for instance and suitable for combis, does this have no relevance to flow rate? are all new taps like this then? i notice the bath tap has 22mm flexi hoses coming from it. bath tap says

Flow: 14 litres/minute at 0.1 Bar.

Maximum Pressure: 10bar.
