I have took out an old shower, want to replace it, cable is 10mm, fuse is 45amp and the pull cord switch is 45, new shower less than 10 kw, under new regs can install the new one myself, I have done several before many years ago though, retired builder of 40 years but dont want to fall foul of not having the blasted part P, any help

If you are sure the existing circuit is correctly designed then replacements are not notifiable.

What conditions do the cable run through - insulation/conduit/trunking?

The new shower instructions will most likely say that the shower must be wired via a 30mA RCD.Is there one already fitted?

cable is trough hollow wall, through loft, then down through small crawl space and into consumer unit, is on former cooker fuse crossed out and shower sticker put on, no cooker switch in house, 40 amp.
