New House - Missing TRVs?

Apologies in advance, however I have moved from a house with a central thermostat in the hallway to now having some radiators with TRV’s and others without? Is there any reason why these radiators (Bathroom and Hallway) dont have valves? Many thanks

The one near the Heating Room Thermostat does not have one. The bathroom ?

1 reason for not fitting trv`s in hall is brcause its usually where they site the roomstat

sometimes one is not fittef in bathroom, as you are generally trying to achieve a higher temp in there which stops mirrors etc misting up

Apologies however what do you mean by "Heating Room Thermostat" the only thermostats i am aware of are on the radiators.

Roguetrader's reply is exactly right. Just as an addition to that, although you probably worked it out yourself:

The result of a trv (in the same room as the roomstat) closing before the roomstat is satisfied, is that that particular room will be too cold, whereas the rest of the house will be too hot (because the roomstat will never get warm enough to turn the boiler off)

So yes it is perfectly normal to have TRV's missing in hall and bathroom.
Edit: Providing there's a roomstst in the hall that is!!

The bathroom gets quite hot and there are no room thermostats anywhere in the house.

Thanks for the speedy replies everybody, however if i dont have any thermostats in the hallway and no PRV in the hallway or bathroom then the boiler will always be heating the radiators. Should i fit PRV's to both these radiators or should i have a thermostat fitted in the hallway.

you should fit a roomstat.

this will turn off boiler and pump when heating is no longer reqd

Get some trv's on em all. Or all except hall and stick a thermostat in. Not alot of work really.

To make it clear my post was based around you having a roomstat in your hallway, I misread your post.

You need a roomstat in your hallway and no TRV on the rad, maybe look into wireless ones.

TRV - Thermostatic radiator valve.

It will be allot easier to fit the missing TRV's, however will the boiler still heat water even when all the radiator valves are closed? Hence better to fit a room thermostat to actually stop the boiler?

is your boiler a "combi" or "regular"?
