I just got new laminate flooring fitted in the hallway and it's creaking something terrible at the edges and at the doorways.

Should it be doing this?

I used to have laminate just in the vestibule, but this was replaced along with the hallway floor. The bit in the vestibule (which I fitted) never creaked but it is now.

Just wanted to check before I go and complain.

do you have an expansion join all the way round including under door frames??

I believe so - the guy undercut the door frames and fitted the laminate under them. I've noticed that at the edges/thresholds, it's thin strips - maybe about 3 inches wide - would that cause the problem? I'm pretty sure it shouldn't creak - there's no sneaking about the house in the dead of night!!!

is the floor level as in
does the floor bulge and level when you stand on it or dip down!!
use a 6 foot strait edge
