I have a in wall meter enclosure that was installed after the house was re-wired.
The back of the enclosure is a single chipboard panel with the main cutout and the meter fixed to it,
I have room above this for a consumer unit (as mine is currently on show about 3” from the new enclosure) but is it acceptable to fix to this board in the enclosure, as I know in the past the supply company did not take to kindly to anyone fixing things to the meter board?
Your advice please.

I very much doubt it. It is for their equipment, not yours.

Is the door of the meter box outside? If so, anyone could tamper with your CU.

no the enclosure is in the hall just behind the front door

The board in the cupboard is the DNO's.

You shouldn't fix anything to it.

Saying that, it's not uncommon to find a CU in there around my way. ;)

I have seen cu’s fixed inside this type of enclosure but if I do have it done will I be in bother or is it better to leave it alone.
I suppose I could build another cupboard around the consumer unit as is.
Thanks for the info

Ask them to remove the enclosure and bulid a new one around the CU and meter.
