New oil to gas install. Bottom of rads cold.

So this morning it took about 40 minutes from the heating turned on to go from 17 degrees to 19 degrees. Is that about right?

If it is a more control system, controlling a modern boiler, and the demand for heat is minimal - then the radiators do not need to get that hot, and may only get warm at the upper part. It all depends on the demand for heat.

If you want to properly test the system, wack the room stat up to max, along with any TRV's, the radiators should then get really hot, top to bottom.

It my have escaped your notice but is it not clear that i have no idea about heating systems and therefore i am on here to see what i can find out? I dont know what info i need to give as i am not a gas boiler installer. Therefore i will answer them questions when asked. And i am not ringing the gas installer over the weekend and also its mothers day i am not going to interupt there day. Also the system is not broke i am just seeing if its running at its best. Some people like. Its comments like that that spoil it and put people off coming onto here.

Er - what comments? You quoted my post, which I have reread, and I see nothing even slightly offensive in that, and so my best guess is you were referring to the post by 'numpty1'.

I will say, that I have twice now suggested you test your system, by wacking the room stat, and TRV's up to maximum, to then see how the radiators and boiler respond, but you do seem to be ignoring that suggestion. You asked for help, you have been generously given it !

Apoloiges i was not refering to your post

if you are that concerned get the installer to address/answer your questions rather than random strangers who have no idea of sys/size/req/preferences or location of equipment...a two bed flat would heat quicker than a three bed semi subject to various factors/preferences.

I quoted another person by mistake. I was meant to quote under this post.
