New radiator not working

Is the rad fed from above? If yes (and especially if there's any microbore tube involved) the drops may be airlocked.
Solution- close both rad valves. Open bleed valve fully, if you have modern radiators, remove the bleed valve completely, replace with a hose adaptor. Open lockshield fully, keep topping system pressure up while water is running into a bucket, keep running til at least 10 litres have come through. Close lockshield, open trv, repeat. With luck while doing this you'll get an episode of gurgling and air as the airlock clears.
Once you're done, close both valves, remove bodge, replace bleed valve, open both valves, rebleed rad, mop up spilled water. If rad now works, consider topping up inhibitor

No, from below.

Morning,

After allowing the pressure in from both sides, when some air came out too, I forgot to turn on all the other trvs and overnight the pressure seems to have done the trick - it's working nicely now.

I isolated all the rads on both sidessbefore draining the system yesterday, so hopefully only drained water from the pipework. Should I put in more inhibitor anyway or will it be ok?

Thanks all,

Mark

By the way ,if you have altered the position of all other rads lock shields ,you should return each one to its original setting .If you didn't ,you will alter the systems balance.

I only altered the trvs so should be ok.

On note, what's the best way to get some inhibitor into the system without draining? I was thinking of isolating the towel rail (which is also the highest point in the system), bleeding out excess pressure, then remove the cap to syringe out water to make room for the inhibitor. I've a big syringe with 20cm of 5mm hose.

That will work OK mate
