just wondered if there is much benefit in replacing old radiators, to give you the background, the house was built in the 80's and the boiler replaced 2008 (it's a Worcester)

No trv fitted jyst wondered if a new radiator would be more efficient and output more heat?

Thanks

Depending on size and design, a new one may well provide more heat.
However unless the old one was undersized, fitting a new one won't achieve anything.

Thanks, I'll find a btu calculator and check that out first, if the but is fine then I'll leave it

On the assumption that you're not complaining the rooms cold, then the current rad size is right. A new rad may well warm up quicker, and also cool down quicker. And a larger rad with a TRV will also warm the room quicker, but if every things working well enough at the minute, maybe best to leave well alone.

Depends on your measure of efficiency. Any heat not delivered to the room will return to the heating circuit, so there's no wasted heat in the conventional sense. However as above you want it to take enough heat from the water to keep the room warm enough.
