New ring main in kitchen

Hi

We are having new kitchen and fitter recommended a new ring main rather than use existing one. This is small kitchen but need for new 6mm 32 amp supply for electric cooker.

Would a new ring main normally be required in these circumstances?

Also would it add much to the overall cost?

If you have had no trouble then it probably isn't needed but as you are having a new cooker circuit then it probably wouldn't add much to the cost.

A ring may not be required depending on the shape of your kitchen and route of the cable.
