Hello there..... we're just in the process of a full bathroom makeover, and I was trying to find out the correct way to fit wall tiles....Is it possible to tile directly onto 12.5mm plasterboard, which has been fitted, using plasterboard adhesive only.... or should it be skimmed first?.....
Whats the general opinion, on using PVA bonding, before tiling..... Many thanks

Yes using a quality flexible trade adhesive (not cheap DIY crap) correct for the tiles being fitted.

or should it be skimmed first?
No, not necessary or desirable as it reduces permissible tiling weight.

Never, ever use standard PVA under tiles unless your chosen tile adhesive manufacturer recommends it; & if they do, chose another adhesive. PVA is water soluble, can give problems with bonding & if used in a wet area, your tiles could end up on the floor. If you need to prime, use a quality SBR primer.

Only use moisture resistant PB in a bathroom, not standard wall board; MR board must be primed before plastering. PB in wet areas should always be tanked or, preferably, use a good waterproof tile backer board in these areas instead.
