Hi guys
I am getting a avanta plus 29c (buying from tradedepot for 850 unless anyone know an alternative place) fitted in two weeks. Which thermostat should i buy with it? I looked for Celcia 20 but it mostly leads to dutch websites.

Many thanks for your advice

brilliant, that was a very quick reply - have not left the forum yet. :D

I will check out honeywell as well.

Cheers

That's because Remeha is a Dutch company.

The Celcia 20 is an Opentherm device so it will communicate with the Avanta using Opentherm protocol, which will provide much better control. HOneywell have announded an Opentherm Stat, but it's still not available in the UK.

Celcia 20 User Instructions

Have you had the external temperature sensor fitted? It works with the Celcia 20 to provide weather compensation.

Many thanks, I am fluent in Dutch, was able to read most information but could not find the pricing info for ££, only in Euros.
I have not had anything fitted yet, it is all in ordering / planning phase. I have a 3 bed detached with potterton boiler (8 years old and some bit is replaced last year (£250). I decide to replace the hall thing to get rid of the hot / cold water tank. Avanta plus 39c seemed very good and while reading about it, celcia 20 came in to topic and now weather sensor? What does it exactly do? Assuming that it reads the weather and uses the boiler more effectively?

So I need:
-Boiler 39c (about 850)
-Thermostat (about 120)
-Sensor ???

Sorry with all these questions, just trying to understand what I am getting and how things are going to work.

Much appreciated

Yes the weather sensor measures the outside temperature (N or NE facing wall). It uses this information to decide what flow temperature the boiler should run at. Cold outside = high flow temp; warm outside = low flow temp. You can read about it in the Avanta Installation Manual Page 24. The settings can be tuned to your particular requirements by adjusting four parameters.

If you don't fit the weather sensor , the Celcia 20 will adjust the boiler temperature according to the room temperature; i.e how much the room temperature differs from the temperature set by the user. Whether this gives as good results as an external sensor is open for debate.

Here is the Complete Celcia Manual. It explains more about weather compensation. It's in Dutch, English, German and French.
