Recently had a HWC fitted. It makes an intermittent horrendous noise as it gets filled from the header tank.

You can expect a bit of a gurgle as the cylinder fills for the first time - its best to leave a hot tap open as its filling, the tap will start to run when the cylinder is full. After that it should be quiet so check that the header tank is filling quickly enough - you could have a sticking fill valve or maybe the main house stop cock hasn't been turned fully on? Cheers John
