Newly installed shower mixer

Hi all,

I have just had a mixer shower set replacing my taps (bath). I would like to use this as a shower as the water comes out at a good rate

My hot water comes from a combi. When I use the hot water tap, the pressure is fine. When I put the cold on, the flow slows down alot and doesn't get any cooler. If I switch it all off and use the cold in my basin, it is alot warmer than ever has been.

I think the problem is that my cold water is coming from the roof tank and thus the water is not as pressurised as coming from the boiler which has a pump.

a. Am I correct in my thinking?
b. What can I do about it?

I would look at taking the tank out of the loop. Turn off, drain down. Link mains inlet to cold outlet.

If you are in a flat make sure you are not affecting other residents.

I guessed that I need to somehow point the upstairs cold to the mains. Didn't even occur to me to get rid of the ceiling tank..
