Hi,

I have some newly plastered walls that I whish to emulsion white. The product used was Multi-finish. Do I need to prime them with anything or can I paint straight away?

hi matt i was searching the forum for advice on this matter tonight for the same reason and also timescales.
put a mist coat on first, this is paint diluted at least 25 % (50% is too much) with water or your subsequent coats wont absorb properly and fall off or blister in patches.
time allowed before painting : new skim , a day or when it is dried pink all over
if a base coat of plaster was used like bonding or browning 8 - 12mm thick then allow as much as 4 weeks before you apply the mist coat
