Hi please someone help, i have just moved into a new flat/annex, it has been totally gutted and rebuilt, new bathroom, kitchen, flooring, paint etc, my problem is the fumes are really affecting my breathing, does anyone have any ideas how i can solve this? Would just having windows open for a week or two work? Or should i get an air purifier? And if so which? There are so many and ive been told ones with carbon are best? Do they work? Any help would be very much appreciated. thanks

The obvious answer is to offer the place plenty of ventilation.
If the flooring area has been carpeted the smell could linger about a while as carpets can collect smells, so giving the carpet a good shampoo clean could help, also granny tells me "chopping an onion in half and leaving it in the room will soak up smells!"
