Nissan Micra Wheel Bearing Dust Cap

Hi Forum,

The hub cap on the front near side wheel has come off whilst I was driving. I have noticed that the Wheel Bearing Dust Cap is also missing. I have looked on the web to find one. I can find one to fit other cars on Ebay (a Peugeot 206 etc..). Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I can buy one from other than the dealer?

Since the wheel nut has been exposed, it is a bit rusty, should I put some grease on it? If so, could you suggest what grease to use?

I don’t know of any front wheel drive cars that have a bearing dust cap fitted. Can’t see the point as there’s no greased bearing to protect - as far as I know, they are all sealed bearings. Is there one on the other side?

There's not one there.....I guess you are looking at the end of the drive shaft.
By all means wire brush and grease it if you want but more importantly brush and grease the hub so the wheel doesn't seize on, particularly if its an alloy.
