no hot water from my Potty combi (updated-help!)

Thanks. I'll pick up a couple of new microswitches in the morning.

Anything else other than "fused" microswitches that would cause this problem.

And would a fused microswitch prevent the dv motor from working??

My original posting ages ago said that the rear portion of the diverter valve was jammed. Thats the right hand saide of "103".

So far I have no reason to doubt that is the cause of the problem.

However, its a little worrying that the motor actuator is said not to be working. Its purpose is to divert heat to the DHW preheat store until thats hot.

The motor needs to be checked by turning it upside down and pushing gently on the pin to see if its moving. While its off check to see if its clean and dry in case the gland seal is leaking.

thanks tony. Is that the "pink" assembly which "390" fastens to?

the dhw assembly that fastens to this (which is a new part) is working. When tap is opened the pin comes out and makes contact with the microswitch.

Tony. would it cause the symptoms that her combi is showing. Firing up when there is no demand from the tap. Fires up straight away on either selector switch. Tap led lights up. heating side gets hot. only way to stop the boiler from continually burning is to switch to off or remove the microswitches..

Think i'll stick to my commercial plumbing :D

If the tap led lights when the diverter valve pin is not protruding then that implies a faulty switch which is a common fault.

here now.

The tap light actually flashes (which i think is what should happen as it goes into preheat mode)

But it appears stuck in this mode on either dhw or heating. I'm thinking the whole diverter valve assembly needs replacing.

If its stuck in preheat mode then that implies the sensor used to measure the DHW storage temperature is failed.

Tony

where is this sensor located. i can only see 2 on this boiler. the dhw one with the 2 green wires and the c/h one with the 2 red wires.
