Assume you have a tank in the loft?
Go and check its filled back up...
If it has youve air locked it.
Wack a hose from the cold mains to the hot tap and blast the air back up.... go careful though

It should not be possible to empty the cylinder, no matte what you do. You probably have some dirt stuck in a pipe.
Have a look at the big tank to check that it is clean inside. Still a bit odd, coz even if the flow is restricted, the cylinder should not empty.
Possibly a faulty floatvalve.

I dont agree with Ben!
Most cisterns fill at about 5-8 li/min.
Most baths fill at about 10-20 li/min.
That will empty the cylinder in about 10-20 minutes.
Then an air lock can occur which is presumably your problem.

And if it empties the tank as well, the tank is too small.
Or the floatvalve takes 4 days to dribble the tank back to full.
