I have a Baxi Combi 105 E, had problems with it ever since i have had it 7 years ago, for the past year not had any hot water from the sink taps but have managed to get it from the bath and showers, a couple of months ago had the pressure vessel and diaphragm replaced to try and solve the problem but this has only made it worse, and now only get hot water from the bath tap if I am lucky, today was not a lucky day please help, plumber coming round on Monday to replace diaphragm again, but admits he is stuck!

Could be the microswitch, but to be fair its not hard to check. Not sure if your "plumber" is the man for the job. These boilers are fairly easy to diagnose and repair, especially a no hot water issue.

Thanks will tell him about the microswitch, but who are you supposed to call when something like this goes wrong????

Think the problem is whilst there are plenty of plumber and heating engineers that know how the system works, when it comes down to the complexities of a modern boiler workings, fault diagnosis is not a strong point. Plenty will 'throw' parts at a boiler, hoping by process of elimination it will fix the fault.

Problem being, without the knowlege to diagnose the faulty part from the start, money and time is often wasted before the boiler is fixed. Im not Gassafe so cannot work on boilers, when my former in-laws Glow Worm packed up they (unknown to me) called in someone to repair it. 6 weeks and £515 later it was working again. Ideally you need someone who is expert in the the type of boiler you have, often manufacturers fixed price repairs can be cheaper. Heateam are the Baxi/Potterton people.
