Therefore you could set the boiler and a couple of weeks later get some different oil which may cause more sooting. That's rare but things like that do happen. Their figures may be realistic, but when you consider a 7 to 10% saving available by turning the thermostat down by 1 degree, you can see the relatively small benefit.
