They certainly should write their legislation far more clearly and 'unambiguously' - but very careful thought needs to go into the wording since, for example, I'm not sure that either of your suggestions are 'foolproof'. I imagine that there could probably be a lot of debate as to what 'fitting' means. As for 'connecting' (and 'disconnecting'), as I hinted yesterday one has to be careful here. If we are to encourage/insist that 'full required testing' be undertaken as part of any electrical work, we can't have disconnecting/connecting circuits to a CU notifiable without making a high proportion of work notifiable!Yes, they do seem good at choosing ambiguous terms, don't they? Why not simply fitting or connecting CUs is notifiable?
