Noisey gates slamming shut . . . .

Hi, we have a small pedestrian metal gate which makes a right racket when closed shut by someone unless they are very careful. I'm thinking of some small rubber strips to stick to the frame to dampen the noise. Would anyone have a clue where I might find such a thing? I've had a good search on t'internet with no luck.

Anything you stick to it outside will fall off as the glue fails.

If you leave the gate open one day, you could put a blob of silicone at the top, middle and bottom of the fixed post. Leave to cure for 18 to 24 hours before closing the gate.
