Hi there

My toilet cistern has been having a water banging for quite a while, so on saturday i changed the bit in the cistern which has the ball cock connected to it (complete section changed)
not long after that and the water back on it is now making a noise like someone letting air out of a ballon but squealing!
i turned the water pressure down and still didnt make any differance but helped for a while.
I then fitted the bit that was in the bag (looks like a plastic threaded screw) up into the bore , packet says to aid in high pressure areas... after about 30 mins the high pitch squeal noise started again.
only way the noise seems to stop is if the pressure is turned right down to almost no water coming through the taps.

That would be a plastic ballvalve then.

If it's new take it back and change it, preferably for a brass one.

Get yourself a Fluidmaster, never known one of them to squeal
