When we use a lot of cold water at the same time, e.g. flush the toilet and then brush teeth, there are vibrating sounds from the cold water tank and connecting pipes. We've made sure the water inlet tap is open on full but this hasn't solved the problem. Any ideas?

Are all the pipes well clipped down? Loose pipes can transmit vibrations, and resonate, amplifying relatively small noises.

Sometimes it can be a sign that a float valve would benefit from an overhaul, or is nearing the end of it's useful life.

if you have an indirect cold water system (ie tank fed) just replace washer and seating in the ballvalve. to test this just lift ballvalve when noise starts
