Noisy Neighbours

Advice please!!!
I have recently bought a 2 bed mid terrace 1992 construction and the sound insulation seems to be non existent!
not to worried too much about noise through the day but its the noise at night that is really disturbing me!
I can pretty much hear everything but the main problems are creaky floors, thuds, drawers/doors closing and chairs scraping
When in the bedroom noise seems to transmit from all parts of the neighbours house, creaky floorboards upstairs and thuds/scraping furniture downstairs
any Diy advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you done a search of the forum, there have been lots of threads on here about it and some have posted back with the results of their efforts.
