hi chaps I have a proline frost free fridge freezer, which is approx 14 years old. It still works ok & has been 100% reliable, but recently it has become very noisy, so much so you can here it upstairs. Is there anything that can be done or is it about to fail.

Any advice would be appreciated. Dave

We have a Hotpoint fridge freezer, about 7 years old, and thats always been noisy, i think the compressor is humming against the case of the freezer. We have learnt to live with it. A good kick on the side usually stops it! ;)

I might have tried to do something about it myself (re-mount the compressor?), if it werent for the fact this is a high-tech unit with the "hot bit" under the freezer, and the compressor hidden under the back cover . . . Lovely warm feet when you stand in front of it though . . .

cheers, will have a look tomorrow night, it started out a bit noisy but now it sounds like a bus in my kitchen, maybe if i paint some double yellows it'll stop.
