Noisy toilet flush in the morning

First flush in the morning causes the float valve to hum loudly for not more than 1-2 seconds, but it's loud enough.

I've taken it apart and cleaned up all the individual parts but this morning the problem repeated. The noise is when the cistern empties and the ball drops.

What to do ?

No I don't hear the noise when that happens. What could the problem there be ?

I take it that you are on mains pressure and not tank fed. Could it be a build up of pressure. Check your water pressure with one of these conected to the garden tap:

I'll pick up that tester today and report back asap.

Yes mains pressure here. No tanks. Combi boiler.

Replace diaphragm washer, it's probably stretched
