Non-metal washers - which ones for which purpose?

I picked up a big assortment of washers recently - flat rubber, fibre, O-ring, different plastic, but there were no instructions! LOL

Seriously, I wondered which washers were for different purposes, and whether say, a fibre one could replace a rubber one or an O-ring could replace a plastic one etc

We actually have a 99p shop near us which is much better value than those expensive pound shops.

But IIRC, these washers were from Aldi
