i have done some experiments and will proceed with gorilla glue used to join 2x pieces of chipboard edge to edge. It works fine for my needs.
Now moving on to the actual job, I have made a clamping frame so I can use wedges to pressurise the but join as it is easier than sash clamps . I have also fitted frog tape to each face near the join to stop glue on the veneer
What I am trying to stop is the bottom seam sticking to the jig. I wondered about greaseproof paper as a release material? Or maybe something like parcel tape or similar or brown paper that I have waxed?
I have several of these joints to make
