Now we are getting somewhere. Still waiting for the answer to question 'how long did the service take?'
Must admit I like this boiler and way it is made. Am lead to believe this design of boiler was the turning point for Baxi Potterton after the company bought over french boiler company/ ies in order to market a combi boiler. Mechanism/ layout similar to Alpha 240 combination boiler.
Looked at history of posts by jwturpin. A year plus few days ago issues with hot water delivery. While boiler would supply 'sufficient' water to a shower, no combi will be able to match the performance of an unvented cylinder or be able to deliver hot water to 'tropical rain spray head' type shower. Another question that begs to be asked is what is the inlet pressure with other gas appliances running as this may well be the cause of a baseline boiler performing miserably due to lack of stipulated burner pressure. As present post suggests, water quality also an issue as HWHE blocked by system debris resulting in hot and cold water supply at the tap.

while on Novenber 16th a mention of £295 was made for repairs.

Brings us to present. Seeing the history of problems, I cannot fault the repair person. Dirty system water will effect hot water heat exchanger. PCB on this type of boiler do have a tendency to fail buy hey, boiler is 10 years old and relay operations do result in wear and tear of contacts, so quite acceptable to replace an odd PCB after 10 years. External controls- well fitting a good control would give better results than a cheap and cheerful unit- my choice is TP5000Si which has yet to let me down.
Replacement radiator lead to circulation problems. I wonder if it effected boiler operation itself as internal flow switch would be looking for 'nil air' on primary circuit for positive operation.
