This was the first film I took Mrs Mottie-to-be to see. Just looked up the release date, 14th September 1978. We met on 15th September 1978. It’s her favourite film.

Mrs Secure can't understand why I get upset when "someone you don't know from Adam dies".

You're upset because you "knew" them through what they did, their books, films TV shows, music, contributions to the public etc...., and also when the people you "grew up" with die, it is a reminder that you're getting closer to being in that position yourself.
