I have fitted a new oak floor and hard waxed oiled it.
We have a few gaps around the doors and pipes for the radiators which I would like to fill.
Can any one recommend a good wood filler which would take the same colour as the floor.
I have tried a few natural or light oak wood filler and the colour is too light.

Thanks

I would try the supplier of your floor in the first instance.

You could buy two tins (one light and one dark) and mix your own

You should not really fill gaps around the radiator-pipes (not the doorways if you mean what I think). The wood needs expansion room, also there.

For around the pipes, have you considered solid Oak Radiaotr-pipe-covers?

Thank you for your replies

Thanks woodyoulike the main area i need to fill is a big splinter which formed when I was sanding and under a couple of architraves where we cut the wood just a little short.

The Oak Radiator pipe covers are just what we need, do you have a sample to match the wood.

Thanks

Oak pipe-covers are Oak pipe-covers, like your Oak floor each has its own character, colour etc.
So, samples?

There are two main types of colour for oak dark and light.
Your pictures look like dark oak which would look stupid on a light oak floor.

any recomendations on wood filler?

thanks

Tell me how many you need and we will select the lightest of them for you ;)

If you have sand-dust left-over then I recommend Bona Kemi Mix & Fill, if not, try a mastic filler
