Good evening all.

As you will notice, this is the first time I have posted here. I have been reading this forum on and off for about a month now thanks to some major works going on in my house.

I don't like DIY and when I do something about the house I never go beyond my limits. Thanks to everyone on these boards I have learned a hell of a lot of the past month and avoided some very silly mistakes.

Phew sucking up is over! I have a new kitchen being installed at the moment and to save a ton of money a friend suggested we get a plinth heater (connected to the central heating) instead of relocating the radiator. The plumbing was already there and is ready for the heater. Problem is that I have a connection on the end of the supplied hoses that I am not familiar with.

There is only one place to tighten with a spanner so not sure if these can be attached by hand and then tweaked with a spanner, or whether or not I need to clamp one end to get some leverage. Linked above is the heater and the parts contained within the compression head.

I would be grateful for any thoughts and ideas.

These look like standard PUSH FIT fittings, not compression  Put them back together and just push onto each end of pipes

There should be a rubber O ring in the fittings too. If it's missing or damaged the joints will leak. Make sure you reassemble all the parts in the correct order and orientation and mind you don't get your finger caught in the grab ring!

Cheers again guys. There is a Rubber O ring but its injust behind the threads on the main body.

As I have no desire to get a prince albert or get married, yet, I should get anything trapped anywhere ;)

I don't recpognise them at all. Suggest you ring 01245 329206 !

That looks like a "Smiths" plinth heater. I have two.

Just push straight on to the pipes.

Did you not get any instructions with it?

Yeah got instructions but doesnt mention anything about the connection other than attach one end then the other, and that they are 15mm.

Managed to get some time to do it today and it worked a treat. The heater I got from Wickes, not sure who makes it.

Thanks for the help all :)
