I got on well with the kelpers, and also the bennies, but remember them telling off some military people for coming on the land without permission, not against them coming on the land, but wanted the opportunity to say yes but avoid this or that.
I realised I had done the same, no excuse, I had my own 2-meter radio, so asking permission was easy, so I apologised, only to be told, not you Eric, you're different.
So my relationship with them, it seems was special, so although I found them great, nothing like the dancing and drinking one could do on a two nighter, and as to a grand slam.
But I talked to them every day, and knew what was going on. So yes I was different.
