Quick question - Oil based gloss over B&Q water based gloss, is it doable and advisable?

I don't know if water based gloss, is same as wickes satin paint for wood and metal. But the wickes satin stuff (think it is water based as it can be washed easily off the brushes etc) is brilliant. It doesn't get yellow like gloss paints do. I painted the skirting boards of my house3 years back and they are still white. I would never use oil based gloss paint for such uses.
