put in new loft tank feeding worster oil combi. now when central
heating is on not very much hot water. when water heater is on itself
plenty of hot water?

any ideas would help thankyou.

why would you put a tank in the loft to feed a oil combi boiler all combi boilers work off mains water

boilers work off mains water

this one dosn,t. not an old boiler but rest of system about 40years old.
old farm house didn,t used to be conected to mains when boiler
instaled .got water from a tank in feild so not much pressure
thats all i know just doing them a favour.
 
audisport is right it makes no sense. Are you sure it is a combi boiler. Do you have a hot water cylinder in the house?
When you say little hot water do you mean quantity or heat? Try and give a bit more inf. it may help.

I serviced a combi boiler a long time ago that had mains HW but had retained an open system for the CH. The pressure gauge was always low as it would be.
 
Things are different in the country you have to find ways of overcoming things like private supplies. I think I would be tempted to try and boost the pressure from the tank with a pump. But it may be that there is something else going on with the hot water, possible diverter valve not working properly. May have drop some sediment from the tank when draining down. :rolleyes:
