When we run the Grant oil boiler for the central heating the oil fired rayburn is going out. They are fed from one oil tank teeing to the left for the boiler and teeing to the right for the rayburn. Approx 4-5 metres each. They have both run fine together previously, cannot understand why not now.

The oil Tank filter is blocked when the boiler runs it's oil pump can't get enough oil from the tank so it sucks out the oil from the Rayburn Oil control valve - this is potentially Very Dangerous as a hot Rayburn burner can explode if when the boiler shuts off the oil flow is restored to the rayburn burner the vapour produced is easily ignited with explosive concequences - the sharing of a single oil supply is NOT RECOMMENDED each appliance should have it's own oil filter and line from the oil tank as stated in British Standards ;)

It does make sense in what you are saying. I will check filter on oil tank discharge and then will look into running a separate feed to each. Its literally a couple of minutes before rayburn goes out.
