Hi,
I have had some scalloped lead flashing fitted which is directly above some tiles on a bay window overhang. My question is, should I treat it with some patination oil or any other "oiling" treatment?
My understanding is that "oiling" the lead will prevent eventual build up of white streaks from rainwater run-off onto the tiles that it is above? Also, the oiling may preserve the appearance of the lead?
Is there any reason why patination oil is the common choice rather than linseed oil or danish oil etc ?
Any feedback and recommendations most appreciated.
