Replacement of old boiler with a self condensing combi boiler

Sometime in the next 6 months I need to replace my old boiler with a new high efficiency combi boiler (at the moment we have a hot water tank and tanks in the loft that I want to get rid of). Obviously a re-jig of the pipe work is needed – thankfully (save for a flushing out) the central heating part and radiators are in mint condition.

Before I decide who is going to do this I would like to read up on the whole thing – are there any reasonable books on the subject… self help guides etc, that are bang up to date.

Many thanks, Roy.

Nothing on self condensing boilers that I am aware of, nothing on conversions either come to think of it.

There is not much difference between a condensing boiler and a non condensing boiler.

What you should do is to learn the characteristics of a combi compared with a heat only boiler. When you have done this you may not opt for a combi ! They are not suitable for everybody.

Reading postings on the Screwfix forum might help you.
